Database storage is a tertiary form of storage. Information is stored in large data banks and warehouses. Data is compressed and organized and can only be accessed by authorized personnel. Some users prefer a network storage which involves accessing the stored data over a computer network. A network can be attached meaning it's attached to one computer but is accessible by another pc. Previously, before modern day technological advances, data was stored on paper tape and punch cards. This is a classic storage method dating back to the 1890s, before anyone had any idea computers would be invented. Probably the best storage device is the online server. It allows data to be backed onto a server accessible by any internet connection. This is incredibly beneficial in the case of a disaster or theft. This is also the recommended storage device for any user with vast amounts of data or very important information.
